Photo update......

After what sounds like a very interesting business trip to Sicily, Geoff has returned and sent me some more photographs.

The old structure is coming down and the builders will sort through the stones to set aside the ones that we can re use.

The process of drilling the well is also underway. The Geologist believes that we should find water at depths of around 55-60 metres. There will be no mains water so the well will be our main source of water.

The house that started it all.....

We had a wonderful holiday in Umbria in 2009 and we fell head over heels in love with the region.

This link is for the house that we stayed at for the holiday and it is a wonderful property...

If our property turns out to be as beautiful we will be ecstatic.

Some more pictures taken today

The work has started!

This week the builders have moved on to site and have started clearing the land around our ruin and removing some overgrown trees to make the building accessible.

They have then erected some scaffolding and removed the roof tiles which will of course be re used.

The next process will be to take down the building one stone at a time and the stones will also be set aside and re used.

Finally we own our ruin

On Friday June 4th we completed the purchase of Celle Di Sotto. Later this month the painstaking process of taking down the current structure stone by stone will begin. As the photos come through I will post them on the blog.....

The final floorplans

We have finally got there, after what seems like months of changing tiny details we have all agreed on the design for the layout of Celle Di Sotto. Here are the final drawings.....

The build should begin in mid to late June and we are all very excited.
